The LA Pipes "Life Saver" life ring buoy base 8-inch tall donut, buoy, bagel or whatever you call it base comes in clean, scientific clear borosilicate glass. Built for function and durability with thick 34mm tubing, stable flat bottom, glass-on-glass fittings, and 6-slit diffusion. Slip some ice down the neck to the ice pinch for an extra soothing and chill smoke. The removable down-stem makes it easy to clean and easy to transport and the flared and gathered mouthpiece gives comfort and durability. This pipe is another classic by LA Pipes and a great choice for the daily or occasional smoker.

Love the artwork of these handmade glass pipes, not talking about just colors, but shaping and forming are gorgeous. I like the idea of helping Economy down there in LA. The wildfires are really horrible for the locals, so I think it’s appropriate to buy local with LA pipes!

LOL! You're too funny!!!! We do offer pipes as tall as 16 inches. But that's too much for most people. We suggest bongs around 10-12 inches ;)

Too Fragile

Unfortunately the gauge of the glass for the tube and buoy base are not the same making it too fragile. Broke during its first wash. Good news, the folks at LA pipes customer service listened to my complaint and made good.

Hey Mike. My name is Lee and I'm in the glass shop at LA Pipes.

You mention the neck and base are the same thikness glass, making the blown base thinner. That is 100% the case with any bong. These kinds of bongs are made from one single tube. The base is heated. air blown into the tube, which blows up the base (like a baloon), and creates the shape. The base of any beaker or bubble bong will always be thinner than the neck. No one welds two different pieces of tubing together to amke a bong. In the rare case they do, that would would take 2-3x the amount of time to make, making it 2-3x more expensive.
